Entries for Arkansas Shorts were limited to the State of Arkansas and be less than 10 minutes in length. Submissions poured in from across The Natural State and we are thrilled to have received so many pieces from professionals, amateurs and beginners. The shorts were viewed by the screening committee and judged on style, technical prowess, content, and of course, the submission guidelines. It was not easy, but the field was narrowed down to 18 entries covering the narrative, experimental, documentary and music video formats, which should make for a very entertaining, interesting and varied program.

Standouts for this years ARKANSAS SHORTS Program included Matt McCormacks’ – “Of Moons, Birds and Monsters”, Lesley Allens’ – “Touch of Flesh”, Warren Criswells’ – “Moments”, John Cooksey’s – “Kindness of Others” and “Grocery Shopping” – directed by 5-year old Eureka Smith.

Last years event sold out the beautiful 200 seat Malco Theater, so be sure to arrive early for the Opening Reception. The event is set for Saturday, January 9th. Opening reception at 7PM and Films at 8PM. Admission is $5 with the proceeds going towards The VOV 2010.

See you at the movies!!
